New Student Checklist
An interactive checklist to guide new students through key enrollment tasks
Problem:
New students are given several tasks to complete upon being admitted to the college. Most information provided about next steps is sent in an email format, and is limited in its scope. Information can be confusing and overwhelming for students to follow, increasing the likelihood of important enrollment tasks not being completed.
Solution:
Creating an interactive checklist for enrollment procedures gives students a tool to manage their tasks in a centralized, easy to navigate format. The checklist is designed to reduce barriers and encourage completion, while also being an educational tool to teach new students about the college.
GOAL
Increase the number of students who complete key enrollment tasks within their first term at Pierce College.
BRAINSTORM
For this project, I chose to start with an action map. I wanted to get clear language about the project goal, and visualize the hierarchy of potential student actions by brainstorming some of the most essential items relating to enrollment.
